Kevin Smith is a genius. He was lucky enough to make a movie with his friends and turn that into a huge grossing franchise. That is every young filmmakers dream. He created Clerks which I have already chronicled with posts about Dante and Randall. Jay and Silent Bob are two menace’s from jersey who sell drugs and hang out in front of the Quickstop. Jay (Jason Mewes) is a skinny long blonde hair slacker with a vulgar mouth and an annoying personality while Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) is a portly guy wearing a trench coat to hide drugs and handle money These two characters are Stupid funny. They love to inflict emotional pain on others. The duo has appeared in Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and Clerks 2. They are exciting young and charismatic. They are two friends or as they call it heterosexual life mates who hang out all the time. They symbolize what an amazing friendship is and even though in unconceivable ways they still are friends. Kevin Smith writes, directs, and stars in the movies. Here is a clip
I can go on and on about Kevin Smith and his movies. They are good movies that make you laugh so go get them all and watch them asap.

Well,” you’re” in love. And you’ve both got your own monkey. What more could two guys from New Jersey want?

Randal Graves is another character from Clerks. He is Dante Hicks best friend and works with him at RST VIDEO and the QUICKSTOP. They have been through it all together. Randal (Jeff Anderson) is much more of a slacker than Dante. He shows up late for work insults the customer and is as crude as you get. He is very protective of Dante. Especially when Dante’s ex Caitlin wants back in his life. Randal is an instigator who loves to defy authority. The character made by Kevin Smith has also appeared in Clerks II, Clerks the animated series, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Randal who will screw up all the time just dosen’t care. In the second movie he accidentally burns down the Quickstop and him and Dante go to work at Mooby’s. Mooby’s is a fast food restaurant originally developed in Dogma another of Smiths movies, they work there and are just as irresponsible and crude as they were in the quickstop. Randal’s favorite movie series is Star Wars and when a fellow co-worker decides to argue for Lord Of The Rings he begins ripping the series. Kevin Smith’s movies are a huge success to the audience he caters to. They are the most loyal fans of a director I have ever seen. His movie credits are CLERKS, CLERKS II, CHASING AMY, DOGMA, MALLRATS, JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK, and Zack and Miri make a Porno. Smith tends to use the same people in his movies. Friends like Brian O’halloran, Jason Mewes, Jeff Anderson the list goes on. They all have great on screen chemistry that can’t be topped in my opinion. My two favorite clerks scenes.

That quote is one of the most famous lines from any Kevin Smith movie. Kevin Smith the writer/director who has produced cult classic films such as Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Clerks II, has created Dante Hicks. Dante lives in New Jersey and is in his mid 20’s still lives at home and is a typical 90’s slacker. He works at the QuickStop convenience store and is a push over. That famous quote above says it all. He comes in on his days off and picks up others slack. During this particular day someone has jammed gum in the locks so he can’t open the shutters. His newspaper were stolen a customer starts a mob in the store about how dangerous cigarettes are. He also has to deal with his slacker friend Randall who works next store at the video store. Randall shows up late and insults all the customers. Later on Dante finds out that the boss who was supposed to relive him at noon went to Vermont and he has to man the store until close. He gets the balls to close the store to play his scheduled hockey game that is played on top of the roof as well as close the store to go to an ex girlfriends funeral. This long day ends even worse then when it started when his ex girlfriend whom he is still in love with has sex with a dead man in the bathroom of the Quickstop. This movie has to be one of the most stupidest funniest movies. I love Dante’s character because I can relate to it. Whenever I was at work I was always the one picking up shifts and filling in. Oh how I would’ve love to close the store and play some puck.
After such a long day, Dante is done with his day at work and finally gets to go home. However tommorow is just another day and work is waiting for him. Just a quick side not Clerks II Dante and Randall go to work at Mooby’s a fast food restaurant after Randall inadvertinly burns down the quick stop. Dante is moving to Florida with his fiancee and Randall (Jeff Anderson) and Becky (Rosario Dawson) are trying to make Dante realize that his life will be better off in New Jersey than in Florida. The first movie made in 1994 is a classic and it’s in black and white however it doesn’t disappoint. Clerks II was made in 2006 and is still a great movie but personally I prefer the original.
