Chip Douglas-The Cable Guy
Jim Carrey stars in the Cable Guy where he plays a man with no personal identity. He identifies himself as television character. He believes his name is Chip Douglas. He goes to a routine installation at Steven Kovak (Matthew Broderick) new apartment. Steven was kicked out of his old place by his ex girlfriend. While setting up the cable, Chip tries to befriend Steven by giving him free cable. Steven then finds himself watched 24/7 by the Cable Guy. Chip tries to force himself into Steven’s life. He intrudes during a basketball game, invites his family for password, in his cubicle at work and even at Midevil Times.
Chip Douglas is a classic character because he is just STUPID FUNNY. Til next time
